Yes...it's really Fall on Salt Spring Island!

Leafy Beach

It's truly Fall now...the calendar says so. Late September and all of October continue the Harvest pleasures on Salt Spring.

The famed annual Apple Fest takes place on September 29th this year...last year saw over 400 varieties of apples grown on Salt Spring. Thank you to Harry Burton for having created this valued annual event.

The Saturday Market and the Tuesday Farmer's Market are still strongly underway. The Canadian Thanksgiving is on October 14. The annual Sip & Savour event, showcasing Salt Spring's agricultural community, takes place on October 19.

Somewhere in the enjoyment of Salt Spring's agricultural largesse is the annual Small Business Week (always held in mid-October, across Canada). Check out mixers and seminars offered by the local Chamber of Commerce.

Do you know a great business, a super staff member, an enticing restaurant menu, a buoyant non-profit group, a stellar community supporter? The annual Salty Awards take place in November. Voting is now open on the Chamber's website. Winners are chosen by you, the community.

Take time to enjoy the softer season on lovely Salt Spring Island.

I would love to go to an Apple Fest...love the crispy texture of an apple, it says autumn is here.  A

I like calling fall the "softer season." The lighting is softer and things feel less harsh...
