On my lovely Salt Spring Island, swimming in the Salish Sea, between Vancouver and Victoria, and close to Seattle, there is only one plow.
Main roads to ferries are kept cleared...otherwise, you're on your own.
Usually, we just see rain, grey, cloud, and early Spring by early February.
This year it was snow, ice, actually skating on some shallow lakes and ponds, plus if living at high elevations, one was simply "stuck".
The melt has happened...today is a dazzling sunny day, the Harbour sparking reflections, hardy souls are enjoying the open patio at TJ Beans, and it's suddently a pleasure to take the dogs to the beach.
Rumour says: more snow tomorrow as Artic Front moving our way.
Today, though, it's time to enjoy the "now", and whispers of Spring are everywhere. Lucky islanders!
