The allure of the Gulf Islands, whether the southern, the "mid" or the northern grouping, nestled in the lee of the much larger Vancouver Island, or the island options just off the mainland coast, or the ribbon of land between the mountains and the sea, known as the Sunshine Coast (also on the mainland side of Georgia Strait), or the communities dotting the huge Vancouver Island (which creates the protected boating waters in this area)...all of them have their treasure spaces, their loved destinations by those who know the coast....
The west side of Vancouver Island offers unspoiled majesty, hard packed sand beaches, old growth forest, and although Uclulet/Tofino, the two main towns, at opposite ends of the rim of land which encompasses Long Beach and the park reserves, are the best known destinations, it is possible to visit the neighbouring smaller island groupings, off Tofino.
This is one of the beaches on a parcel of land (65 acres, +/-) on spectacularly lovely and "natural" Vargas Island, approximately 20 minutes by boat from Tofino. This entire area is a sea kayaker paradise! You can land a small plane on these beaches, and helicopter arrival is easy, too.
