Summer dreams.....
Here's a bench, waiting for you. The Garry Oak tree in the foreground is a protected species, in my area. Not a native tree, it was planting in the 18th Century, when the Spanish ruled the Pacific Coast region. They planted this fast growing variety of oak tree, so that they would have wood available to repair the hulls of their ships, if needed.
There are Spanish place names in this area...Juan de Fuca Strait, Madrona Drive, Galiano Island, etc.
The history of this Coast is found in English place names, too...Captain Cook and Captain George Vancouver named a lot of Islands in this "inner sea"!
The Islands Trust, a provincial government mandated body, in place since 1974, continues to protect the Gulf Islands from growth. This lovely unspoiled scene will remain, for the enjoyment of all visitors to the Islands.
