For those who celebrate the Season of Advent, yesterday was the fourth Sunday in the Advent preparation for Christmas Day.
It has become a tradition to light a different candle for each Sunday in the Advent season (four Sundays), with a fifth candle for Christmas.
The candles stand for:
Love
Joy
Hope
Peace
Thoughtful images, regardless of one's personal traditions or beliefs.
It's good to think about what these iconic words stand for, especially as we seem to be caught in the eddying waters of a very turbulent sea...with economic and physical insecurities afflicting everyone. Is this the Age of Insecurity? Maybe....
In these closing days of a year of enormous shifts, let's light those candles and allow the gifts of the words to enter our being.
