The human network needs everyone....right now!

So many events surrounding the sledge of change...the trick is to keep steering so no plunges into the abyss.

The narrow view takes in our small window: our life.

Have we remembered to really listen to those who live with us?   Are we impatient all the time, because we aren't breathing properly, because we're worried all the time, so much to know, no script to navigate the changes around us, and any roadmaps are poorly delineated and in short supply?

Our mode of dealing with our nearest and dearest is the measure of our character...that's what we emit, and what shapes our corporate entities.

The 21st Century appears to be about the meshing of individual and corporate selves...suddenly, it's just about the essence of "us", and that's what a consumer will respond to as well, not just our best friends.    The real and the virtual worlds are melding.

So, who are we?

It's always been the question of the great philosophies...is our purpose simply to discover the answer for "us"?

And what about our large window, the one that encompasses the entire world?   Yes, we are responsible for it all...our humanity is about response to crisis wherever it occurs.

Right now it's an earthquake that is one of the worst nine to ever have occurred, with a force that is reportedly 1000 times greater than the recent New Zealand quake and several hundreds stronger than the Haiti quake a year ago...the devastation is almost beyond belief.   The earth's axis shifted; the earth's rotation speeded up.

We are called to help, however we may.

I like the Cisco ads that play on t.v.  It's called "the human network".

This event is going to require response from all of us, globally, and it's about "aid", about helping...the complete antithesis of destroying "the other" because of ideology.    Tiny or large, we need to offer whatever help we can to bring support to our human family in Northern Japan.

So...we do our jobs and we do so with a light heart because we know that we have family and friends around us, and no matter how "tight" the times or how many changes afflict us at work we also have solace with our nearest and dearest.   We are still balanced ok, on the eggshells we all walk on....

What's a little retraining?   So what if we're doing hamburger helper for awhile?   We have to rent not own? Well, we still have our imaginations and the option to create new paths.
Did you know that the ground we think is solid beneath our feet is really a slippery sliding thin skin over a seething internal core?

Stability is an illusion....

Lately, we've been having a lot of early warning alerts: earthquakes in Haiti, in New Zealand, in South America, in China, in Iran, and now in Japan, that cause death, destruction, economic hardships.   Populist uprisings in autocratic countries that remake societies.   Sectarian violence that destroys lives over ideologies.   Economic meltdowns that destroy countries and cultures.  A technological revolution that erases time and geography, and remakes society in its wake.   Perhaps an historic "shift" time, one that will appear in history classes much later as "the divide" between past and future....

Big picture events, and the only thing we have any control over is our attitude to the changes.

All the more important, then, that
we remember to remember what is truly important.

That we remember to smile, to hold out a hand of friendship, to appreciate our inner and our outer circles, and that we encourage all we come in contact with...at any moment that slippery skin could tear and scar over in a completely different pattern.

Meantime, let's practice our inclusive and helping natures, while we have the latitude to do so...lucky us, meantime.
