I had a client in my office the other day who noted that he had never seen a moment in time when the financial sector was in total disarray, when the stock market was plunging/totally volatile, and the housing market was in the depths/still falling -- all at once. One, maybe, but not all three at the same time. That is unusual. With the financial issues/credit crunch outcomes, it could be that currencies will also be under attack -- how much paper cash is being printed, and what's backing same? An awful lot of changes, seemingly all at once. Is this the pivotal moment that is going to scoot us over into the 21st Century, in one fell swoop? It's certainly not "business as usual"!
That means, then, that our responses have to be "unusual", too, to be able to meet the challenges of life without a blueprint.
Maybe the 21st Century is about immediacy, life on the fly, no designated script. This may mean, then, that we have to be cultivating what lies between our ears. Our intellect is suddenly in demand.
