It's the 115th year of the Salt Spring Fall Fair...Saturday (17th) & Sunday (18th)...each day is different! Enjoy them both, and catch the essential soul of Salt Spring's rural heart, beating below its sophisticated surface, always!

Catch up on the latest with Raffi's Centre for Child Honouring...their Fall fundraising campaign (Sept 15th to Dec 15th) is underway. How can you help? Host a salon in your own home, with Raffi. Become a Joy Envoy! Ask about the limited edition prints, by a Salt Spring artist, a gift for benchmark donors. Be a Friend of the Centre by donating $25 or more. Friday (the 23rd) attend an art showcase at Mahon Hall...organized by the art night group Artepelago, 32 local artists will be on hand to present their work: painting, photography, sculpture, fine craft, works on paper, and installation...enjoy talent!

The 2011/2012 Salt Spring Folk Club lineup: Oct 17th it's Roy Forbes (opened by Dave Harris); Nov 7th catch David Francey (opened by Ed Henderson); Dec 5th enjoy John Reischman & The Jaybirds (opener Alan Moberg); Jan 30th it's TARA, plus opener to be announced. Feb 27th finds Jim Byrnes & The Sojourners. And, of course, the final offering on March 26th, with the famed Gumboot Gala (featuring Bill Henderson & Valdy)...the annual fundraiser. Music Makers of the Anglican Parish create their Fall season with their new series of Simply Organic recitals with oh so talented organist Don Conley at the consul. The concerts are on the third Wed of each month, beginning with Sept 21st...at All Saints by the Sea. Free music begins at 10:10 a.m. (enjoy!).

Also enjoy the pink extravaganzas around the Island, signalling the work of the Weavers & Spinners Guild. On Oct 1st & 2nd, at ArtSpring, enjoy the array of handcrafted articles from fleece & hand-spun yarn to towels, linens, clothing, & accessories. Join the guild!

Tambura Rasa plays Beaver Point Hall on Sept 23rd...flamenco & world fusion music, for your pleasure!

The annual Work Boat Weekend is on the 24/25, in Ganges Harbour...enjoy the toots & hoots!
