It's a good idea to vary the "morning coffee" place, on a daily basis.
Seems to me that I usually run into someone I should be talking to, right at that moment...the synchronicity thing, in the universal sea we all swim in, I suppose.
Bumped into someone I had sold a property to, some years ago....now going to build, and was looking for a short term rental, and I had just received a phone call from someone needing to find a short term tenant. Nice, when things just "work out", in this easy a fashion.
I realized, again, that one part of a realtor's life could be described as being the "gate keeper".
In this resort based area, where owners are not necessarily here on a year round basis, one can get a bit out of the loop of what's happening in the lives of those who have already purchased some time ago. As I said to this terrific buyer, it's not that I don't care what happens in their lives, as they progress into discovering what the Island means for them, post-purchase, as I do care, but I'm still back where they met me first.
I'm still back at the gate, welcoming those other new arrivals, and making sure that they connect with their particular piece of paradise.
I thought about this image, as I went back to the office...a nice idea to be at the gate, welcome sign in hand, with the "road map" to discovery. Salt Spring and the Southern Gulf Islands all seem to offer buyers that opportunity to either reinvent themselves or to rediscover whatever it was they thought they wanted to do, before "life" got in the way. Not exactly a second chance scenario...I prefer the idea of rediscovery.
As a gate-keeper, I get to see them as they were, and then re-encounter what their Island selves have become...very interesting!
How may I help you to discover special Salt Spring Island & the Southern Gulf Islands? Call me!
