Have you hugged your realtor today?
No, I'm not kidding....
Real estate agents come in all shapes and sizes, with varying levels of expertise and energy, just like most business people...there's no "one size fits all" realtor model. And that's as it should be.
No one appeals to all people. Everyone somehow always "connects" with the client base they're best suited to...no idea how it works out, but it just does!
The reason for the hug?
Realtors are the engine of every community's viability. A realtor connects with a buyer, shows them all listings in their wish list/price point category, and a sale takes place. That's the engine...now comes the rest of the train!
Architects, designers, contractors, septic installers, plumbers, electricians, painters, flooring providers, furniture makers, decor choices, water purification providers, appliance makers, restaurants, grocery outlets, electronics...the list goes on and on....what about doctors, dentists?...new arrivals need such services, too.
Even before the sale there are the marketing options that attract the buyers in the first place: web designers, business cards, signage creators, brochures, targeted print media, smart phones, video equipment, servers for blogs, mls and company fees...and on it goes. So, both pre and post sale add-ons, in a real estate experience, bringing income to a community, and during the transaction process itself, more income viability involving lawyers, notaries, financing institutions, et al.
The stone in the pond is the initial ripple, but ripples within ripples are set off, so that the initial "plop" that was the impetus to all other action, pre and post, blurs and calms...one forgets where it started, by the time the rhythm works its way outward, in concentric rings of business action.
I don't think that realtors are appreciated enough for what they really bring to a community's lifestyle....so, I say again, have you hugged your realtor today?
There they are, out there in the middle of a post-internet societal shift, making themselves ready and worthy to serve their clientele in this new consumer-centric business model, and caring for their clients best interests, first and foremost! And all without a safety net!
So...call your realtor up and say...glad I know you, keep in touch, and...most important of all..."thank you".
That's the best hug of all...appreciation!
And your thoughts are? Always welcome....
