I think it's difficult to be "part time" anything, so never mind the real estate sales world. In real estate, which is about information, it might be difficult to be "part time", if that means that you aren't keeping up to the minute on all listing and sales information. If you don't know your inventory & the market dynamics, because you're "part time", then that can be dangerous for your clientele.
If you are keeping up, though, and just choose to split duties with another "part timer", then that still adds up to full time service, for me.
Is it more difficult to be postive if you're "part time"? Hard to say! Depends, I suppose, on what the rest of your "time" is all about.
Whatever you're doing, whenever you're doing it, if you are "whole hearted" in your approach to your time management, then you will not be "part timing" in your mind.
Focus and consistency are what deliver on successful modes of being, and to me the word "part time" may carry with it a connotation of "time off"/not being wholehearted and focused, so therefore less serious.
Maybe we need a new vocabulary, to make sure that there are no negative tendrils around the concept of "part time"?
Focus, consistency, a positive attitude...these are attributes we can all strive for, and not working 24/7 shouldn't mean that these issues aren't in the forefront of your business model.
So, instead of "part time", what description can we move to? Your thoughts?
