Olympics coverage underway...CTV doing a great job of presenting to those at home!

All day long, CTV is carrying coverage of the final leg of the Torch Relay.

The Torch touched down in Victoria, then went up to the north, then to the east coast, making its way back across the country to the west coast (often fondly referred to as the "wet coast"!).

Canadians are not a showy group, yet each community and region the Torch travelled through created a sense of pride and appreciation of the opportunity to host the Olympics, and also a recognition of the commitment and passion to succeed of the athletes.

Sport is a universal language, and no matter the strains/stresses afoot in the world, at any given time, this meeting of the best of the best, athletically, from every country in attendance at the Games, is an inspiring opportunity to come together.

This year, it's in Vancouver and Whistler, and the enthusiasm is palpable!    CTV is using the latest technology, to deliver a "you are there" feeling for all those watching at home.   The Torch Relay through the city (and yes, at 7:30 this morning, in Stanley Park,  you did see Arnold Schwartzenegger with the Torch, on his segment of the relay!    California and B.C. are partnering in many "green" initiatives).

At 4 p.m. (PST), there is a pre-show being covered by CTV, and then the Opening Ceremony is at 6 p.m., at B.C. Place, in Vancouver.

In the U.S., NBC is covering this (check your local times).

It's an exceptional moment, in the most beautiful city in the world, and whether it's rain or shine, the Olympics are here, and the athletes are ready to compete!

Enjoy!
