Looking to buy or sell real estate on Salt Spring Island? Call me!

The real estate industry continues to change...its business model must react to the consumer driven format now in place...this means that the mls system itself, plus franchise offices, must restructure or disappear.

It's just the outcome of the ongoing technological revolution delivered by the Internet....with its resulting delivery of power to the consumer.

Important, whether a seller or a buyer, though, to know that mls information on any listing is geographical.

The Board a realtor chooses to work under is not relevant. A Salt Spring listing is under the geographical label Salt Spring...one on Mayne under Mayne Island...a listing in Victoria shows up under the label Victoria...and so on.

In the Gulf Islands, which are seen as a "grey" area under the mls system, as they are located between other large areas, a realtor can choose whether to work under the Vancouver Board, the Victoria Board or the Vancouver Island Board. In spite of that, the actual listing will be geographically located, on the mls system.

I choose to work under the largest real estate board in B.C., the Vancouver Board, as this puts my listings under the eyes of more realtors...over 10,000 realtors in the Vancouver Board, and only around 1300+ in the Victoria Board, for example.   I work in a secondary home region, with a mainly off island & often out of province buyer, so it's essential to get the information "out there"!

Realtors have clients & referrals are an important aspect of the real estate industry. My connection to the Vancouver Board, then, plus my affiliation with a Whistler based office, open up important avenues of discovery of my listings by both sellers and buyers.

Important though the mls exposure is, it is not "targeted"...my company connection & my board affiliation amplify what I offer my client base.

I also offer several other important venues for targeted & productive marketing, both in specific print & in important web based options, including the social media stream...my aim is always to connect a qualified buyer with a serious seller.
