keeping on, keeping on...

I'm interested in all of the posts, recently, about "keeping on, keeping on".    It is very important to remain as positive as possible, without appearing euphoric -- one also has to be cognizant of shift and change, and how to meet same.

That said, it's also vital to remember that if one wants to be served, one has to be at the table.

I agree with a recent post which reminded us not to pull back on our presentation when things slow, as it's essential to remain 'visible' -- otherwise the client who is steadily coming our way will think we've retired or quit or might even be interrupted, en route, by a more visible realtor competitor.

If this downward cycle really began around the end of 2005, which many people feel could be the case, then we're already well along the bumpy road to better days.     There will be further "bad news" re banks/financial institutions, credit will be more difficult to achieve, and, along with this cyclical downturn we have societal change, with industries reflective of the 20th Century passing away (painful, for those involved in same) and the 21st Century models just lurching into fruition.

Cyclical change plus societal change -- a double whammy, if there ever was one!

In that downturn moment, though, there is time to make certain that we are as up to date as our client base, and are using the methods of communication (communication itself remains the same -- only the methods of delivery are changing) that our customer requires of us.    It's still about good old fashioned business sense!

A philosopher from Ancient Greece once said:  "The only constant in life is change." (Heraclitus).

I like to think that in change lies opportunity.

We have to be doing everything we can do, though, as optimally & as positively as possible, given the circumstances in play at any given time, to be able to catch a glimmer of that opportunity, and to realize our fullest potential.

Your thoughts?    Always welcome!
