How important is a great kitchen? Very, I would say....
This one is a custom design in a summer place in my island area...it was designed by a "kitchen expert" in nearby Victoria, and his plan was worked into the overal design by the architect and builder.
I love it, as it reminds me of a piece of furniture, and, although inviting, does not look, to me, as if it couldn't be on display no matter what's being created here (this is one end of a great room, so not "hidden" from guests, at all).
There is a super oceanview, right outside the window, and yet this space seems to measure up to the exterior beauty.
Sometimes, people will do gardening and other exterior upgrades, before listing, may even paint the house entirely, inside and out, might even put in new appliances. I think if one simply focused on a great kitchen "re-do", and left other items "as is", that a buyer would focus on that element and might put up with all the other things that the seller had been "living with", too.
