Ah...Harvest Time!
The late Summer into early Fall season in the Pacific Northwest Coast region is a very alluring time...still warm & sunny days, cooling at night, the orchards full, the gardens lush & productive, the Fall Fairs, the rural pleasures of "foodie celebrations" throughout the region...each community showcases their produce, their crafts, their individual appeal.
A great time to visit the small towns and the islands in this rural heartbeat of B.C.'s coast.
On Salt Spring, the bounty of the season can be seen & enjoyed at this weekend's 115th Fall Fair...also at the Saturday Market in the Park, and at the Foodie Tuesday markets...also next weekend, with the first annual Sip & Savour event (local food, local chefs, local vineyards)...following weekend is Apple Fest...then it's Canadian Thanksgiving Weekend.
