Feeling stuck? Try the "nature cure".....

Feeling stuck?

Don't turn on the computer, no games in electronic-land, no turning to the fridge or the t.v. games, no shuffling of paperwork, pretending to accomplish something...no phone calls to friends to chat about the "whatever" of life....

Instead, stop, take a breath, get outside, all by yourself...and just "look".

It's not always about a sunrise or a sunset, although that does seem to be the kick at us that Mommy Nature delivers, to try to catch our short attention spans.

Sometimes it's just looking at a hummingbird thrumming at the feeder you remembered to put out for it.    Sometimes it's observing an incredible scarlet blossom, maybe a rhododendron, maybe a rose.    Along with the "view", either a clsoe-up or an impressive long-distance panorama, there are sounds to truly listen to.

Have you ever noticed the noise of a heron's wing, as it beats through the air?    It made me realize that flight, though we see it as a sinuous movement, is actually hard work!

Bird song, distant cries of children harking back to our own playground days, the buzz of a bumble bee looking for nectar, the odd blurring between the exterior and the interior (yes, I mean "us") that can occur if we allow it to.

We are part of the natural world, and when we allow ourselves to truly see it and to encounter it, we find it recharges us.

Sort of a meditation....and a reminder of our creative responses to life.

Try it!
