Was officially Fall on Friday....
If you missed the Sip & Savour event, you missed a superb experience...make sure you're "in" for the 2nd Annual one! On Friday, an amazing seven-course dinner at Hastings House...with all local chefs, one each in charge of one course...all created with food produced on Salt Spring, and all paired with amazing local wines...well done, everyone who created this stellar evening! Saturday afternoon saw a completely different event, with wine tasting & snacking foods presented by local producers & chefs...completely different ambiance, so nothing repetitive! Held at Harbour House Hotel. Presented by the Chamber of Commerce, & with partial proceeds to the agricultural community, to support sustainable farming on the Island...see you there next year!
Hope you caught the Work Boats in Ganges Harbour this past weekend...and the Barley Brothers blue grass fun, on the docks, on Sat aft! Great!
This coming Sunday (& yes, it's October!), enjoy the 13th Annual Apple Fest...at Fulford Hall & selected farms. Thank you, Harry Burton of Apple Luscious Farm! A member of BCAA? Check your Westworld magazine for a write-up on this so important event!
The Saturday Market continues officially until end of October...Tuesday Foodie Markets continue during Harvest Time....
