Celebrated Canadian artist, Emily Carr...enjoy a retrospective of her work & life, in two Victoria locations!

I find the work of Emily Carr, B.C.'s noted artist, working before and at the time of the Group of Seven, to be very inspiring.

Sometimes, when I'm out showing land only property, a forested acreage, I will look at a grove of protective Cedars or a grouping of dancing Hemlocks or a fern glade  and recognize an Emily Carr moment....

She created for us that spiritual experience of forest and sky and light...the shimmer of colour in air...I've often thought she caught the flavour of Van Gogh and translated his meadow palette into our deeper earth green coastal hues.

If you're off to Victoria for a "day trip", catch the presentation of Emily Carr's work at the Victoria Art Gallery (on Moss Street, between Fort Street and Rockland Avenue), and also the "exploration of Emily Carr's early life" at the B.C. Museum, across from the Empress Hotel.

If you time it right, you can enjoy Afternoon Tea at the Empress, between forays.

An early Spring treat...to feed the soul!
