It's Easter Weekend...enjoy this Spring "beginning"....

Friday, it's the opening at Starfish Gallery, 6 to 8 p.m., introducing Darlene Gait, Coast Salish artist, and showcasing the so talented Nicola Wheston, Salt Spring contemporary artist.

Easter Sunday at the Cheese Farm, Reynolds Road, 10 to 2...baby animals, Easter bunny, Easter eggs....

Mark your calendars: Ruckle Farm Day, Sunday, May 1st, from 10 to 4, at Ruckle Provincial Park.

Tuesday, April 26th, at 7 p.m., it's Makare Harawira, speaking on Indigenous Women's Wisdom: Enriching Our Lives. A Centre for Child Honouring speaker series presentation, at United Church.

Wow...Nick Bantock has done it again...this time it's an app, The Venetian...check it out! The 21st Century is with us!

Well done Laura Roveda...just back from Calcutta, where she worked with 2 allied groups: Made by Survivors and the Women's Interlink Foundation. There, girls and young women who have been rescued from slavery live in 2 shelter homes.

This weekend is the 5th annual Easter Art Tour...almost 40 artist studios, galleries and special exhibits will be represented! The Mahon Hall feature exhibit is a group show of all participating artists as well as a selection of art from the participating galleries. Pick up a map at Mahon Hall and start your tour. Lucky us! The Easter Art Tour runs Friday, the 22nd, through Sunday the 24th, 10 to 5 daily. An art opening tonight, 5 to 8, with artists in attendance. Enjoy...be inspired!

Live music at Treehouse Cafe: tonight, the amazingly talented Darryl Chonka. Friday, catch Daniel Howlett. Saturday, it's Lane 31.

Salt Spring Vineyards is open with wine tastings, noon to 5 p.m.

Congratulations to Eric Klemm, superbly talented photographer, who resides on Salt Spring. He has earned a first place award at the Worldwide 2010 Annual Pollux Awards.

Bach on the Rock presents Mendelssohn's Elijah, Saturday, 7 p.m., and 2 p.m. on Sunday, at United Church.

Shake it for the Quake, community dance fundraiser for Japan, April 23rd, Beaver Point Hall, 6 to 9 p.m.

At ArtSpring, the 23rd, at 8 p.m., enjoy Gamelin Gita Amsara, with Balinese artists. Music...Dance!
