Things to do & to see, on Salt Spring, in early May...still waiting for "real Spring"!

Live music on Salt Spring: Treehouse Cafe showcases Terry Warbey tonight, and Mike Alviano on Friday, Pat Ferguson on Saturday (music from 6 to 9 p.m.). May 16th starts the 111 nights of Music Under The Stars...wow, it's our season!

Harbour House Hotel: showcases Lloyd English and Jazz on Saturday, followed by the Barley Brothers on Sunday! Enjoy....

Salt Spring Potters Guild's annual Spring show and sale is this weekend, May 6 to 8th, at Mahon Hall. Opening is Friday, 5 to 8 p.m. Show on Sat/Sun, 10 to 4 p.m. Talented artists, here!

Don't forget...the 11th Annual ArtSpring Treasure Faire Extraordinaire is on July 14, 15, 16th. Donate your treasures now: call Nighean at 250-931-0931.

Sunday is Mother's Day! Remember to spoil your Mom...if she is no longer around, check out who might need a little acknowledgement...maybe a single mom with small children? A silk scarf? Bath items? A special nail polish? A "pass it on" opportunity!

Celebrate a Mother's Day Brunch with Calvin's Bistro (11 to 2), or dinner (5 p.m. on). Enjoy a Mother's Day special menu at Bocado's Bistro, in Grace Point Square. A special brunch menu at Hasting's House....call for details! Salt Spring Vineyard is open on Mother's Day, too, with tastings.

ArtSpring presents Alchemy, Songs of Transformation, with the Salt Spring Singers...the oh so talented Don Conley is assistant conductor! Saturday, 8 p.m., and Sunday at 2p.m.

This weekend is Tree Frog Daycare's annual Goods and Services auction, at Lions Hall, with doors open at 7 p.m. and live auction at 8 p.m. Tickets at Tree Frog and at both Pharmasave locations.

May 14th is the Invasive Plant Drop-off at Rainbow Road Park, behind the community pool, from 9 to 5.

Walk in memory of a loved one, on May 15th, 11 to 2, at Mouat Park. Hike for Hospice. Call 250-537-2770 for details.

This Friday at Moby's Pub, enjoy the stand-up comedy, featuring Brett Martin as headliner and Mike Thomas as opening act: beginning at 8 p.m.
