I caught a brief interview with Nicolas Negroponte, the internet "guru", on CNN (Howard Kurtz's media show on Sundays, Reliable Sources).
The theme of the interview was about the disappearance of hard copy books, as we know them.
I hadn't thought about one aspect of the e-reader revolution. Mr. Negroponte reminded us that the developing world would show the developed world the way of the new, just as had been the case with cell phones.
100 books on 100 computers, wireless, sent to developing world communities, and suddenly the libraries we take for granted are multiplied and immediately available to an entirely new audience, in bulk, by choice, and immediately.
Wow! One more glimmer of the opportunities in our post-internet world....
Can't complain about change, it's with us everywhere, no matter what we do, whether a business application or an activity that brings us pleasure...might as well flow with the shift and remain positive about the "new".
