The turbulence continues...what occurs in the U.S. affects all countries.
Ripple effects in Europe, in Asia, in South America, in Russia, in Africa...totally interconnected. A web based model, remember...full of random links.
The ongoing economic uncertainties persist, with no serious glimmer of solution.
Borders are now only visible on maps.
Information cannot be contained within oldstyle physical boundaries, nor can outcomes.
It's very difficult for most people to truly understand what is going on...I'm not sure that economists and other supposed experts understand, either! 20th Century ideas don't help out now, and yet are constantly referred to.
We are not allowed to remain insular and home territory focused, though, no matter how much we would like to be.
The global village delivered by our post-internet world means that what happens "here" affects "there", and vice versa.
The "butterfly effect" is with us.
The spark for a societal revolution starts with a Tweet. Facebook connects the world, and can't be completely controlled. Economic & societal decisions are made among strangers connected by social media, on a level playing field. This information sharing is making oldstyle politicians obsolete. Change really is the only constant, and perhaps we're just realizing what this means?
Marshall McLuhan warned us that our technology changes us. The impact of the post-Internet world is all around us. Oldstyle jobs are erasing...some industries/positions will never return. Perhaps there will be fewer jobs...more people unemployed...re-training is perhaps the only route out of permanent unemployment.
Maybe the consumer control of outcomes means a flattening out of differences...making developed and undeveloped countries more equal? Anyone & anywhere can create the path to the future?
Difficult...
No one really likes change.
Well, there it is...maybe following the chaos theory in Physics is the best plan?
Hmmm...is the uncertainty, the worry over currency instability, the fear of systems breakdowns, a part of a safe haven seeking?
I wonder how many people are looking for a small land holding, to grow their own food? How many people are wanting to withdraw from mainstream, to be apart?
Remember to back up a few steps, to allow periphery vision to come into play. Try not to fall forward into the focus of tunnel vision, which is what the "shout media" insists on.
There is always a pathway out of confusion...just have to be looking for it!
The ground has shifted from 20th Century realities...and nothing will ever return to what was. What is? Change, of course.
Hmm...baby steps as we lurch forward. The big thing is not to panic.
No industry/business is immune from shift.
What is left, after the sifting? Character...ethics...compassion...a willingness to step out of one's comfort zone...a remembering of the value of humour.
With no definite blueprint to follow yet, it's essential to free-float for a bit...kind of a nice rhythm, that to and fro.
And your thoughts are? Always welcome!
