Civic elections...November 19th. Lots of candidates on Salt Spring Island...

This is a very important election on Salt Spring Island, this month.

Part of the civic elections throughout B.C., the unincorporated Gulf Islands vote for the trustees and for the CRD representative. Each Island votes for two trustees...it's not based on population.

There are several people running for all elected positions: two trustees, one CRD representative, and also School Board positions.

This evening is the second All Candidates Meeting, sponsored by our weekly Driftwood newspaper, and it's at 7 p.m., at ArtSpring.

Be there...hear the candidates present their platforms, ask questions...be informed!

Statement style interviews are also being carried on the community radio station CFSI.

The Salt Spring Exchange is another venue for gathering information.

Very important to thank the candidates for their community spirit, in running for office.

Also very important to get out and vote...apathy doesn't cut it!

Two advance polls, one on the 9th and other on the 16th, at the Fire Hall in Ganges Village. Voting day is the 19th.

Make your voice heard...it's your Island. Vote!
