Late Fall on the Pacific Northwest Coast...

Pumpkins
We are easing out of early Fall into late Fall...leaves turn golden, red, brown...and drift across roads and pastures. The days are shorter. Fog can hold up some floatplane schedules. Wind storms can make ferry connections to the Lower Mainland slower. It's just one or two times...not a regular thing...and lots of sun splashed afternoons remain a part of Fall's beauty.

Hallowe'en signals a shift into a different rhythm. On Salt Spring, fireworks just off Rotary Park are a big part of Hallowe'en's fun...adults also dress a part...and children choose specific and easy access neighbourhoods to go trick and treating.

Always something to take part in, as the seasons call forth the island's varying calendar of events.

November scenario? Craft Fairs, pop up markets, theatre productions, choral seasonal events, evening classes, forum presenters...enjoy the softer season charms of the ever-energizing Salt Spring Island!
